"Well,
the reading happened tonight and I think
it was a tremendous success. I was so
proud of all of it -- your script, the
actors, and my own work. The audience
laughed a whole lot, and stayed afterwards
to tell us how much they enjoyed themselves.

with people saying they were caught up
in the play and wouldn't change a thing....

was a staged reading of one of my comedies.

It
was done with set pieces, lights, sound
and music at FirstStage, 6817
Franklin Avenue corner Highland in Hollywood,
LA 90028. Josh
Costello of The Magic Theatre
in San Francisco directed. The cast included
Steve Cassidy, Courtney Cronin, Ashley
West Leonard, Soren Oliver, Nancy Stone
and Matt Orduña. Some of them are
from LA theatre company Circle X.
Dennis
Safren is the manager and dramaturge
at FirstStage, and Ed Asner,
Julie Harris, Syd Field,
Paul Newman and Lily Tomlin
are on the board.

Productions put on my one-act play "Steel
Man" at John Houseman's Studio Theatre
(450 West 42nd Street) as part of an evening
with three other one-acts. It was directed
by Vicky Weidman, a member of the
repertory company and as she had promised
it was a good-looking show. |

and Dallas and is now on French and Japanese
TV.)
